I thought it was about time I did some more character art. This pair are from my book in progress, The Willowhayne Preogative, which is a comic fantasy set in a world I created some time ago called Fythia. Mortus Decaster is a necromancer... who has more luck keeping people alive than ressurecting them. Saying that, he's still a very powerful and skilled magic user, but has a very secretive past. Some say he is actually the personal steward of the Lord of the Netherworld, and is the protector and guardian of his human wife, but no one is brave enough to ask. Someone who does know about Mortus's past is Carver, the (somewhat) fallen angel responcible for people's souls upon their death. Carver and Mortus have a very uneasy friendship, as neither quite trusts the other. Carver is not your typical 'death' character though, he has an agenda, and is happy to give out reciepts for a bit of extra time, if he deems you worthy. Anyway, I plan on drawing some more characters soon, but for now, enjoy these two. xx
The shading and effects on this one are beautiful! Not to say that the rest of it isn't, but I think you're probably tired of me commenting on awesomeness that is the costumes and expressions, so they're just a given.
The thing I love most about your art is the little details. The buttons, little straps, laces, buckles, even the dirt, everything is so detail oriented.
I love drawing shoes. Necromancers MUST have killer footwear. I just wish I knew where the shop he got them from was :S Zoe's Imaginatorium Imporium probably LOL.
