Aztec Warior

My entry into the Concept Guild Artist's competition for this month. I wanted to show a warrior that was traditional and modern cartoon style, with weapons that are again, old and new looking. She has a pet snake as well, as all heroes must have a willing side-kick... or side-slitherer in this case
The colours I researched as they are very typical blues and azures, as warriors back then wanted to stand out, rather than hide away. I did her hair with a slight anime style to it, just to keep the interest- as I have aimed her at a general cartoon/comic reading aged audience- therefore not showing off too much
She's also not a traditional skinny pretty girly, as being a warrior she needs to be a skilled fighter and match the men in things like tatoos and make up...
I would imagine her being a quiet sort with few words, having been brought up to speak though her fighting rather than sweet feminine guiles. That doesn't mean she's nasty or cold, but protects her people fiercely and loves very passionately. She would be about 18, I would say, and have some experience, and the decoration on her clothing is of an elder female as she has collected many fineries, some from her people, others from her enemies as trophies.
The simple patterns of her tattoos and jewelery I also researched as typical Aztec patterns
Anyway that's my explanation of the piece.
